WIP Wednesday: Stars and an Anniversary

With so much swirling around on this WIP Wednesday I've made a list:

1. Lucky Stars BOM: December Practice Block - happy with my first attempt at paper piecing.

2.  Second Year Podcast Anniversary on Friday, January 18th, 2013.  I'll be recording a podcast that day and will be embedding a special giveaway clue in the recording.

3.  QST Pinwheel Label  and binding fabric for Sea Glass Quilt - must get basting to keep on track with my January 2013 January Lovely Year of Finishes goal.

4.  Parisian Star Block for my month of Modern Blocks Bee:  Now there are seven.

5.  Student Teaching Prep:  Writing syllabi, lesson plans and unit plans to get ready for start on 1/29/13.

I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday.

Don't forget to listen to my next podcast, Episode 35 (!) where I'll be talking about Indigo and the amazing range of blues created by dying fabric with it.

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Susan

  1. Fun post today. I didn't know you had the Modern BOM project going. Are those all of your blocks or are some for others?

The Young Man is taking AP European History. It is so much more fun from my perspective than from his.

  6. I am a Lucky Star BOMer too, yours looks great. I don't think the December block is the easiest, so jump in and do January and you will feel more confident. Good luck with the teaching prep!

  11. Susan, I always love to hear about your garden. I can't believe you are able to plant things right now. I live in Utah and we just got a foot of snow! I love hearing about your schooling, as it is a dream of mine to one day go back to college. This episode, I especially liked hearing about the indigo and how they make the dye. What a long process for a pair of jeans!!!!

    Thanks for your podcast.

  12. Happy anniversary! What a wonderful giveaway you're having! Did you know there is another plant used for creating blue dyes? It's called woad, and that's about all I know about that. Thanks for the podcast!
